puddles..oh what fun!

recently gabriel has really been into anything dealing with water. When we go outside the first thing he usually does is go towards the nearest mud puddle...as he points to every one we pass and says, "otter" his word for water. Sometime I just can't stop him from getting into those puddles...what are ya gonna do?

chai time

As this season is getting to be a bit chilly here in the maine land we are looking forward to lots of cups of tea sipped with good friends. Something so exciting for me has been putting together a small business with some good friends and making chai tea. This past summer I was making two different kinds of chai and selling it at three different farmers markets...it was so great to meet people and make a really delicious drink. We just decided to put together our own blend of chai spices to sell at our local coops! They love it here and we love making it. So Happy about it all! The next step might be going to india for me and learning from the pro's....maybe some day.

Swinging time

Here is our gabe, who is just starting to show his independence...he does not want to be in the swing so much, but he loves to push it. I wonder where he gets that from?

the pig...

Today was a beautiful fall day here in maine...we had t-shirts on and gave had shorts on! It was also a perfect day for the pig to be dressed. We helped out on the farm today with killing one of the largest pigs I have seen...it will be some good bacon! Cheers to our farm family greg and meg for raising such a beast. Gabe also got to drive the tractor around like a pro...our little farm hand at work.

The beauty of thankfulness

Today has been the first day in quite a few years that i spent a good part of the day reading out loud to ellen, a 95 year old women that I have gotten to spend time with over the last couple of months. We read about giving thanks...seems appropriate for the time of year, I was so surprised at how little I have been giving thanks in my life. I stopped reading for a moment , took a deep breath and soaked in the goodness of my life. Giving thanks is so healing for me, it reminds me of all that is good and even that the bad is really not that bad. So today I am thankful and just to remind myself to be thankful I wrote it on my wrist....there will be more to come on the reasons which I am thankful for.
